Part 6, Japan at last!
Our first few trains were a bit trying… Though, thanks to a young woman who spotted us staring blankly at a chart, we made it to Anamori-inari!
Part 5, all food! I’m not entirely sure what time it was, but this probably counted as lunch. Although it all tasted pretty good, the star of the meal (if the posted size and order wasn’t already an indication) was Pineapple Cake.
This was our final flight before Japan, a much shorter 3 hours from Taipei.
Travel part 4! No food this time!? Not much to say either!
I just thought all this looked cool…
Travel log part 3! Starting with… breakfast! (Still aboard the China Airlines flight ~ 13 hours California to Taipei) Again, delicious ~ not quite as enjoyable after sitting for so long though.
During the flight I watched Looper (and fell asleep 10 minutes before the end), Judge!, and Oblivion (missed the last 10 minutes, constant flight announcements! >.<). —- Speaking of movies, if anyone can tell me where to get an English subtitled version of Judge!, I’d really appreciate it. Great movie, but I can’t seem to find it (legitimately or not) English subbed despite watching it as such on the plane!
Our flight and arrival went smoothly, our transfer… not so much. Not knowing any Chinese —- and seemingly no one knowing English or Japanese (to be fair, it was early and the place was nearly empty) —- and not having a gate listed on our tickets —- we got lost for a bit. Fortunately there was a group of fellow English speaking travelers who were just as lost. (Though, papersak is probably to thank for all of us going the right direction!)
Part 2 of my travel pics! Sorry for the quality of pictures in LAX, a couple hour delay in Denver followed by hunting down bags and rushing across the airport had me well out of breath. Fortunately papersak ran on ahead to scout out where we needed to go.
Best of both worlds: large empty halls and long lines!
At least there was food shortly after takeoff~ It was probably better tasting and more nutritious than anything I eat on a daily basis. Nothing exotic yet (as evidenced by the Almond Joy). —- Also, emergency Pop-Tart. We actually had it some time in between meals, but the pictures flow better this way…
Bonus: hitchhiker fluffykit and a fairly accurate representation of how I felt after several hours on the plane.
So, quite a bit delayed… but I’m finally posting stuff from my Japan trip with papersak. I’ll actually be making use of the queue so as to not spam up everyone’s feed all at once~
Up first… our pre-flight meal in Omaha, South West snacks, and our short wait at Denver International.
Do note that furry hitchhiker now has his own tumblr: fluffykit. Though, his posts do contain some stuff from the trip… they are a bit more self centered ~ while mine will be food and things that caught my interest.
Why so late you ask? I’ve been at the jQuery conference in Chicago since Thursday night! I managed to make some progress before hand, but I only got in late last night. (Fortunately? The flight was originally delayed due to an oil leak and later the flight crew said they took off without an auxillary power something so…) Anyway, it’s been a while since I’ve done a bomber render so… enjoy!
Don’t pin all your hopes and your dreams on somebody else’s lives.
You are standing here as true as you were born on this earth.
SOUTH ERN CROSS
internet classix plz watch
It’s been what, nearly 10 years since this was made and I’m still waiting for an anime
I don’t usually reblog but…
Damnit, you’re not getting the full experience from this post! Please go watch the full video + secret ending AND sequel on the artist’s official site!
And just for good measure…
This week’s renders weren’t particular work intensive, hell I re-used my Irisu model only adding the bat and straight up reused the background Prof. Z made me last week. That said, I did these first for 3DS —- I wanted a good 3DS 3D Irisu to show off in person —- and later as a wallpaper; the 3DS versions are meant to be more game like, including HUD elements, while the wallpaper versions lack them but had more post-render touch-up work.
For 3DS 3D, scan the QR codes with your 3Ds (L+R from home menu)!
Anyway, next weekend I’ll be at the jQuery convention in Chicago so… I may or may not post on time but hope to do so —- I just caught back up with this double render after all.
So, got back from vacation in Japan last weekend! Didn’t post then because I was tired as hell (sleep schedule is still whack) and didn’t exactly have new content to post.
Anyway, lots of Japan, general anime/manga, and food stuff I might post here a bit later but… how about that 3D? Although I did “Hyper Deck” in advance, I’m still a week behind… (forgot my 3 prong adapter / didn’t find any native 3 prongs in Japan until the end of the trip!)
So, without further delay… here’s Irisu (from Irisu Syndrome)! She’s my first model to use real eye lids / lashes instead of just a texture. As for the background, I knew I wouldn’t have time for anything complicated… so I enlisted the help of Prof. Z to come up with a custom set of suicidal cat images.
Also, since it’s usually frowned to take photos of people in arcades in Japan… more so if it’s a random guy taking a photo of a cute school girl playing DDR… I drew the above catgirl playing DDR~
Knock yourself out, there’s plenty to choose from.
I actually find this information REALLY HELPFUL when I visit someone else’s gallery and like their OCs. Not everyone is comfortable with fanart and few artists post whether or not they are.
